David Perry
David Perry is the CEO of the Nicoya Peninsula Reforestation Project and an experienced entrepreneur with expertise in agriculture, biotechnology, and climate solutions.
He was the founding CEO of Indigo Agriculture, where he pioneered the development and commercialization of agriculture-based soil carbon credits, helping shape the voluntary carbon market for regenerative farming. David previously served as founding CEO of Anacor Pharmaceuticals, Chemdex, and as a founder of Better Therapeutics. He is also the co-founder and President of the Board of Gaia School Costa Rica, which emphasizes a nature-based education rooted in sustainability and community. David holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Tulsa.
Now living full-time in Costa Rica, he is committed to leveraging his experience to design scientifically rigorous, world-class reforestation and carbon credit projects that deliver lasting climate, biodiversity, and community benefits.
Nat Grew
Nat Grew has been dedicated to systems-based landscape management and restoration, community engagement, and social empowerment on the Nicoya Peninsula for over 25 years. He is the Founder and Co-Director of Land Stewardship Co. (LSC), which provides place-based advisory and consulting services for large-scale land stewardship and systemic bioregional regeneration.
Nat currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Interim Executive Director of CIRENAS (Center for Innovation and Regeneration of Environmental and Social Resources), a non-profit organization he also co-founded. His additional leadership and strategic roles include being a founding member of several regional organizations such as CATUCZA (Chamber of Tourism and Commerce of the Blue Zone) and the Nicoya Peninsula Waterkeepers. He is also the Founder of Nazca Pacífico NP S.A., a project development and construction management company with over 20 years of experience advancing sustainability-oriented development across the Nicoya Peninsula.
Previously, Nat managed Hacienda Ario, where he led the design and implementation of a regenerative master land-use plan across more than 2,000 hectares of a coastal working family ranch. During this time, he also spearheaded a public–private partnership to establish and manage the Caletas–Ario National Wildlife Refuge.
Briana Brennan
Briana is a co-founder of the Nicoya Peninsula Reforestation Project. She previously worked with David at Indigo Agriculture on the development and commercialization of agriculture-based soil carbon credits, helping shape the voluntary carbon market for regenerative farming. Briana holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
Kaitlyn Lucas
Kaitlyn Lucas is a recent graduate from Brown University, currently based in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica.
Originally from San Francisco, she has focused her studies on environmental finance and is passionate about nature-based solutions and carbon credit projects.
